MacMurray College was a private liberal arts college located in Jacksonville, Illinois, about thirty-five miles west of the state capital, Springfield. Founded in 1846 by the Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church, the college was named in honor of clergyman, The Rev. James MacMurray, who was instrumental in its founding.
