Hou Hsiao-Hsien (chino tradicional:: 侯孝賢; chino simplificado: 侯孝贤; hanyu pinyin: Hóu Xiàoxián; Wade-Giles: Hou 2 Hsiao 4-hsien 2) (Meixian, Guangdong, 8 de abril de 1947) es un actor, cantante y director de cine taiwanés perteneciente a la Nueva ola del cine taiwanés.
Hou Hsiao-hsien (Chinese: 侯孝賢; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Hâu Hàu-hiân; born 8 April 1947) is a retired Mainland Chinese-born Taiwanese film director, screenwriter, producer and actor. He is a leading figure in world cinema and in Taiwan's New Wave cinema movement.
Hsiao-Hsien Hou. Producer: The Assassin. Of the ten films that Hsiao-Hsien Hou directed between 1980 and 1989, seven received best film or best director awards from prestigious international films festivals in Venice, Berlin, Hawaii, and the Festival of the Three Continents in Nantes.
