Eddie Jefferson (3 août, 1918 – 9 mai, 1979) est un célèbre chanteur de jazz et compositeur de chansons américain. Il est notamment connu pour être l'inventeur du genre musical américain Jazz vocalese, un style musical dans lequel les paroles jouent le rôle d'un instrument solo [1], [2].
Bop singer and lyricist Eddie Jefferson created a new style of expression in the late 1940s, which came to be known as vocalese. Based on his long-time hobby of singing along with horn solos, he began writing lyrics to them, inspiring countless followers.
