On the 7th of July 2020, Tenacious D released an audiobook for the upcoming graphic novel adaption of the Post-Apocalypto, which is set to be released in September of the same year. In addition, at the end of the audiobook, it was announced that Sony Music, the music group in which Columbia Records is a part of, terminated their contract with the band.
Post-Apocalypto is the kind of gloriously silly concept album that only Tenacious D could make. Comedic duo Jack Black and Kyle Gass are forced to navigate a post-apocalyptic wasteland, trying to “survive and thrive” in a world populated by dragons and gorgons (“HOPE”), finding themselves torn over repopulating Earth (“MAKING LOVE”), and even meeting a sensitive cyborg (“ROBOT”).
S1.E1 ∙ Chapter 1: Hope. Ordinary day of Tenacious D turns into post-apocalyptic nightmare after explosion of hydrogen bomb. The couple miraculously manage to survive and find Hope to live another day.

Post-Apocalypto is the fourth studio album by American rock band Tenacious D. Produced by bassist John Spiker, it was released in North America on November 2, 2018, by Columbia Records. The album features songs and audio snippets from the band’s animated web series Tenacious D in Post-Apocalypto.
