3:10 to Yuma is often compared to an earlier Western, High Noon (1952), which also features an ordinary man standing alone against great odds to serve justice. Like High Noon, 3:10 to Yuma had an evocative theme song that became a hit record (with slightly different lyrics than heard on the soundtrack).
