10 de feb. de 2007 · Germaine Montero may not enjoy the fame of an Edith Piaf, Barbara or Juliette Greco, but the voice and style have plenty of character. The choice of songs is fine and very representative of the crème de la crème of French chanson from the 1950s, including Leo Ferré's classics, "Le Jazz Band", "Paris Canaille" and "Pauvre Ruteboeuf".

10 de feb. de 2007 · I first became familiar with Germaine Montero's incredible voice and emotional range in the 1960 LP recording of 16 of these folksongs and was hooked ("Spanish Folksongs, Vol, II," VRS-9067. The other 17 songs are from a 1959 Vanguard release, "Canciones de Espana, "VRS-9050. They have all been digitally remastered for this CD.)
