Art Nouveau. Charles Rennie Mackintosh (born June 7, 1868, Glasgow, Scotland—died December 10, 1928, London, England) was a Scottish architect and designer who was a leader of the Glasgow style in Great Britain. While attending evening classes at the Glasgow School of Art, Mackintosh was apprenticed to a local architect, John Hutchinson.
The Glasgow School of Art has an extensive student and staff exchange programme with about 75 of the world’s leading Art, Design and Architecture schools. These partnerships have been built up over many years through academic relationships and collaborations and extend to all corners of the world.

The Glasgow School of Art offers new undergraduate and postgraduate students the opportunity to stay in one of two purpose-built halls of residence; Blythswood House, and Margaret Macdonald House. Both sites are located in the city centre, close to amenities and travel links, and within five minutes’ walk of the main GSA Garnethill campus.
