David Koepp (born June 9, 1963) is an American screenwriter, director, producer, actor and composer who wrote the scripts for Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park — he also had cameo in the latter film in which he plays an unfortunate San Diego resident who gets singled out and devoured by the rampaging Tyrannosaurus rex.He was also the film's second unit director.

David Koepp was born in Toledo, Ohio, in 1954. He studied at University of Toledo School of Design, then located in the basement at the Toledo Museum of Art, and graduated with a degree in art in 1977. Later that year he moved to New York City, where he lived for almost two decades in the intellectual and artistic ferment of the East Village.
