As the sun sets, Adventureland comes alive with a dazzling new light show illuminating the boulevard. With later closing times in 2024, guests can experience the park in a whole new light as colorful displays dance across the night sky.

History. Construction of Adventureland Park began in 1973 on a site formerly occupied by a small airport in Des Moines, active in the 1920s until a larger municipal airport was built in 1933 at a different location.
