Kelly's Heroes is duidelijk een oorlogsfilm met een vette knipoog en als zodanig best geslaagd. Er zit voldoende actie en ironische humor in om van te genieten. Het is bijvoorbeeld hilarisch om te zien hoe Ootbal ( Donald Sutherland ) Met een holster voor een tank gaat staan. Het is een film om lekker onderuit en ontspannen na te kijken.
