The Office of Special Programs at Tisch School of the Arts provides access to the arts. Whether you’re an NYU or visiting college student, high school student or working professional, we provide you with the introductory exposure to the performing or cinematic arts and the advanced-level training to grow your craft.
Graduates of the M.A. program may pursue careers in arts management/administration, education, grant-writing, and other arts-related media and policy work. The M.A. and Ph.D. Programs in Performance Studies are administered by the Tisch School of the Arts and degrees are conferred by the Graduate School of Arts and Science at NYU.
Minimum of 16 points, var. Students majoring in Performance Studies must also minor in a second area of specialization – a “Related Field” minor – that would expand their interdisciplinary knowledge base from which to consider performance as a situated, context-specific practice. Tracks include: Dance, Drama, Production & Design, Dramatic Writing, Filmmaking, Game Design, Photography and Imaging, and Recorded Music.
