Franchot Tone was born Stanislaus Pascal Franchot Tone on February 27, 1905 and died from cancer on September 18, 1968. He was a successful star of film, theater, radio, and television work. Franchot was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Byam in Mutiny on the Bounty (1935).
