Joe Kwon is the cellist in The Avett Brothers. He also lends background vocals on songs and in concert and plays the musical saw on rare occasions. Joe joined the band in 2006 and his music first appeared on the 2007 album Emotionalism.

26 de may. de 2021 · Growing up, founder Joe Kwon was expelled from every school that he went to, and ended up in prison as an uneducated young man. Ironically, Joe met his positive mentor who helped him see the value in education inside the prison cell.
