John Henry Rostill (16 June 1942 – 26 November 1973) was an English musician, bassist and composer, recruited by the Shadows to replace Brian Locking. He wrote many of the songs by the Shadows including " The Rise and Fall of Flingel Bunt " in 1964.

Entre sus éxitos se encuentran sencillos como: "Move It" (#2 UK, #100 ARIA 1 2 ) de 1958 o "Let me be the one" (con la que quedaron segundos en el Festival de Eurovisión de Estocolmo de 1975), aunque el mayor éxito de toda su carrera artística fue el tema "Apache". Se reunieron de nuevo para una gira en 2004.
