Berkhamsted School is a public school in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England. The present school was formed in 1997 by the amalgamation of the original Berkhamsted School, founded in 1541 by John Incent, Dean of St Paul's Cathedral, Berkhamsted School for Girls, established in 1888, and Berkhamsted Preparatory School.
We welcome applications from international students who would like to join Berkhamsted Sixth as a full boarder on our 2 Year A Level programme. To apply, please email and provide a copy of the student’s latest school report and passport. Once registered, applicants will be invited to take our entrance assessments.
We give every child at Berkhamsted Pre-Prep the best possible start to their education. Our pupils start in our Nursery class – Stepping Stones (3+); places at Reception (4+) are subject to availability.
At Berkhamsted, we develop remarkable people. A Berkhamsted education equips each pupil with the skills and experience they will need to succeed in the future.
The first 30 minutes of every day is House time and academic lessons start at 09:00. There is a whole school assembly once a week, often led by the Principal. Clubs and Societies are considered important enough to be included in curriculum time and the school day finishes at 16.20.
20 de nov. de 2022 · A new Sixth Form building is expected to open in autumn 2023, and 2021’s GCSE results were stellar, with 74 per cent at grades 9–7. But change is afoot in the leadership of the individual schools: new headteacher Tom Hadcroft took over the boys in January, and Emma Watson becomes the girls’ new head from September.
