In 2000, Childs arranged, orchestrated and conducted Dianne Reeves's project The Calling: Celebrating Sarah Vaughan, which won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album.
Dianne Elizabeth Reeves (born October 23, 1956) is an American jazz singer. Biography [ edit] Dianne Reeves was born in Detroit, Michigan, into a musical family. Her father sang, her mother played trumpet, her uncle is bassist Charles Burrell, and her cousin is George Duke.
Released as part of her album “Bridges” in 1999, “River” is actually a cover of Joni Mitchell’s original composition. Dianne Reeves’ mesmerizing rendition adds her own unique touch to the song, making it resonate in a way that feels deeply personal and soul-stirring.
