10 de oct. de 2011 · Sous ses airs d’icône disco des eighties, Portable est surement l’une des meilleures choses qui soit arrivée à la house vocale ces dernières années. A la fois disco expérimentale et résolument dancefloor, il se produit également sous le pseudonyme Bodycode.
Efdemin composes “One Way,” which builds on 4/4 kicks and a more linear structure than most of Portable’s material, but its consistent sound palette and Abrahams’ vocals keep it firmly in line.
'Into Infinity' is Alan Abrahams' fifth album as Portable (he's also known as Bodycode), and his first in at least four years. As was hinted with his excellent pair of singles for Perlon, he's moving further towards a high-class fusion of leftfield Pop and Hi-Tech, Afro-rooted House music with this killer album.
Alan Abrahams or as he is known around the globe as Portable/Bodycode is proudly South African, born on the Cape Flats in a very modest area called Bonteheuwel. We caught up with this world-renowned DJ/Producer shortly before he comes out to Cape Town to headline the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival.
