Frankly Speaking is an album by saxophonists Frank Foster and Frank Wess which was recorded in 1984 and released on the Concord Jazz label the following year.
Marvin "Smitty" Smith (born June 24, 1961) is an American jazz drummer and composer. Marvin Smith was born in Waukegan, Illinois, where his father, Marvin Sr., was a drummer. "Smitty" was exposed to music at a young age, receiving formal musical training at the age of three.

27 de oct. de 2008 · Using the same personnel as the previous year's Two for the Blues (Frank Foster on tenor and soprano, Frank Wess on tenor and flute, pianist Kenny Barron, bassist Rufus Reid and drummer Marvin "Smitty" Smith), this set gets the slight edge and is an excellent introduction to the playing of the two Count Basie saxophonists.
