George Howard, 6th Earl of Carlisle of Castle Howard, KG, PC, FRS (17 September 1773 – 7 October 1848), styled Viscount Morpeth until 1825, was a British statesman. He served as Lord Privy Seal between 1827 and 1828 and in 1834 and was a member of Lord Grey's Whig government as Minister without Portfolio between 1830 and 1834.
George William Frederick Howard, 7th Earl of Carlisle, KG, KP, PC (18 April 1802 – 5 December 1864), styled Viscount Morpeth from 1825 to 1848, was a British statesman, orator, and writer.
He was the son of the Hon. Charles Wentworth George Howard, fifth son of the sixth Earl. He represented Cumberland East in Parliament as a Liberal and was also a well-regarded painter. His eldest son, the tenth Earl, was Liberal Unionist Member of Parliament for Birmingham South. He was succeeded by his only son, the eleventh Earl.
