Life Cycle is an album by American jazz drummer Whit Dickey recorded in 2000 and released on the Aum Fidelity label. Dickey leads the Nommonsemble, which includes Rob Brown on alto sax and flute, Mat Maneri on viola and Matthew Shipp on piano.
Following Transonic, which was Whit Dickey's debut as leader, he returned on AUM with yet another tremendous group and this exquisite sound-song cycle. His abiding interest in the ancient essence of life which breathes freely in wide-open spaces – uncluttered by static – is here reflected.

The Nommonsemble is the brainchild of New York free jazz drummer Whit Dickey, who played with the David S. Ware Quartet in the mid-‘90s and has led projects released on the AUM Fidelity and Wobbly Rail labels. The rest of the Nommonsemble includes pianist Matthew Shipp, violist Mat Maneri and alto saxophonist and flautist Rob Brown.

His first album as a leader was Transonic, in 1998. [1] Two years later, Wobbly Rail issued his Big Top. [1] In 2001, Dickey recorded six of his compositions with Mat Maneri, Shipp, and Rob Brown under the name Nommonsemble, resulting in the album Life Cycle. [1]
