Wil made his first appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and then went on to be a regular on the NBC morning show The David Letterman Show. For one season in the 1980s (1987–88), he hosted The Wil Shriner Show, a nationally syndicated Group W television talk show.

After dozens of appearances with Dave, Jay Leno and legend Johnny Carson, Wil was tapped to host his own national talk show, the Wil Shriner show in 1987. 200 shows later and after three emmy nominations the show ended but Wil continues to do his stand up comedy and to work as a celebrity host and MC at events around the world.
Over the years, Shriner has hosted hundreds of hours of television, including his own Emmy-nominated talk show, “The Wil Shriner Show”. He was also a regular correspondent and guest host for five years on ABC’s popular daytime show, “The Home Show.”
