Out of the Sun is the first studio album by guitarist Joey Tafolla, released in 1987 through Shrapnel Records. The album features fellow shred guitarists Paul Gilbert and Tony MacAlpine in various roles (guitar, keyboards and production).

1 de feb. de 2013 · El disco se llamó Out of the sun y estaba protagonizado por la guitarra de Joey –una mezcla estilística de los compañeros de sello Vinnie Moore y Tony Macalpine, nada raro si pensamos que este último produjo el álbum- y los aportes de otro colega de la familia Varney, nada menos que Paul Gilbert.

TONY MACALPINE is widely regarded as a big influence to the neo-classical metal genre of the 80s, helping the genre to develop, but often adding in blues and jazz fusion elements in too and the result was some of the earlier known prog metal made.
Together with his first studio releases, Edge of Insanity (1986) and Maximum Security (1987), he had a prominent role on other works during the popular shred era, including keyboard performances on the debut albums of fellow guitarists Vinnie Moore (Mind's Eye, 1986) and Joey Tafolla (Out of the Sun, 1987).
Tony MacAlpine (n. Tony Jeff MacAlpine, 1 29 de agosto de 1960, en Springfield, Estados Unidos) es un guitarrista estadounidense que mezcla elementos del metal neoclásico y el jazz . Además de la guitarra eléctrica es también pianista, por lo que se ha encargado de grabar el mismo todos los sonidos de teclados de sus discos solistas.
