Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (27 de mayo de 1946 - 19 de abril de 2005), fue un contrabajista danés especializado en la música de jazz. Biografía. Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (Danish pronunciation: [ne̝lsˈhene̝ŋ ˈɶɐ̯steð ˈpʰeðɐsn̩], 27 May 1946 – 19 April 2005), also known by his abbreviated nickname NHØP, was a Danish jazz double bassist.
On this 1964 release, Kirk heads up a truly integrated quintet featuring the multi-reedsmith (tenor sax, flute, manzello, strich, nose flute, and siren) as well as Tete Montoliu (piano) from Spain, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (bass) from Denmark, and a pair of Yanks in Don Moore (bass) and J.C. Moses (drums).

En 1964, Ørsted Pedersen fue elegido mejor músico de jazz danés del año, justo en la epoca en la que toca junto al multiinstrumentista, Roland Kirk.
