Dom Um Romão is an original stylist of the drums, an instrument in which he is able to evoke sounds of nature, adding much-appreciated overtones by the many artists to whom he has been associated. He also has developed an expressive solo discography.

12 de feb. de 2007 · Dom Um Romao - percussion (1925 - 2005) A legendary name in bossa nova, and one of the premier drummers who introduced Brazilian percussion and rhythms into jazz, Dom Um Romão began his career playing drums at balls and cabarets in Rio De Janeiro at the end of the 40s.
26 de jul. de 2005 · Em 1972, substituiu Airto Moreira como percussionista do grupo Weather Report, com o qual se apresentou no Japão e gravou o disco ao vivo “I sing the body electric”, além dos LPs “Mysterious traveller” e “Sweetnighter”. Ainda nesse ano, lançou o LP “Dom Um Romão”.
