El vocalista llevaba padeciendo desde hace meses graves problemas de salud, según informó la banda alemana POWERWORLD, con la que McDermott grabó "Human Parasite" en 2010.

5 de ago. de 2011 · Esta vez le ha tocado el turno fatal al ex cantante de Powerwolf, que también lo fue de Threshold y Sargant Fury. Su fallecimiento se produjo en Inglaterra, su país, el 3 de agosto debido a un fallo renal que le había tenido cuatro días en coma.
Wilson was unavailable for their next album, so former Sargant Fury vocalist Andrew "Mac" McDermott, joined to record Clone and would remain with them until 2007. 2000–2005. In 2001, Threshold released Hypothetical, which saw Johanne James firmly cemented as the band's permanent drummer.
