Braids (formerly stylized as BRAIDS) is a Canadian art rock band originating from Calgary, Alberta and based in Montréal, Québec for most of their career. Braids currently consists of Raphaelle Standell-Preston, Austin Tufts and Taylor Smith.

1 de may. de 2015 · Austin Tufts: "It was a pretty long, continuous process over the course of March through August, but the recording and writing process took place at three different locations. One of them was Prescott, Arizona – we spent seven weeks there.

Austin recorded and mixed Tess’s new record, Ideas of Space — out today on SSURROUNDSS — and to celebrate its release, the two caught up about the process of creating it.
This Self-Portrait is by Raphaelle Standell-Preston and Austin Tufts of Braids. The whole band also submitted a self-portrait photo. The Montreal trio (the lineup also features Taylor Smith) have released a new album, Shadow Offering, today via Secret City.
