Joseph Edward Hunter (November 19, 1927 – February 2, 2007) was an American musician and keyboardist, known for his recording session work with Motown Records' in-house studio band, the Funk Brothers.

Joe Hunter was a pianist and songwriter who played for Jackie Wilson, Hank Ballard and The Contours. He also composed songs for the 2017 film Detroit and the 2002 documentary Standing in the Shadows of Motown.
