Herbert Jeffrey Hancock (Chicago, 12 de abril de 1940), conocido como Herbie Hancock, es un pianista, tecladista y compositor estadounidense de jazz.
Interpretó el primer movimiento de Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Concierto para piano n.º 26 en re mayor, K. 537 (Coronación) en un concierto para los jóvenes el 5 de febrero de 1952, con la Orquesta Sinfónica de Chicago a la edad de 11 años. También cursó estudios en el Grinnell College y en la Universidad de Roosevelt.

Herbert Jeffrey Hancock (born April 12, 1940) is an American jazz musician, bandleader, and composer. Hancock started his career with trumpeter Donald Byrd's group. He shortly thereafter joined the Miles Davis Quintet, where he helped to redefine the role of a jazz rhythm section and was one of the primary architects of the post-bop sound.
