Don was one of the original members of the Hollies. He played drums. beginning with the Hollies' first performance at the Oasis Club in. Manchester. In the summer of 1963, Don parted with the group when their musical. disagreements with him became too strong.
The Hollies are an English pop / rock band from Manchester. Formed in December 1962, the group originally included vocalist Allan Clarke, lead guitarist Vic Steele, rhythm guitarist and vocalist Graham Nash, bassist Eric Haydock and drummer Don Rathbone.
Original member of the Hollies Don Rathbone has been with the Hollies between December 1962-August 1963. Rathbone quit the band and went into management.
As well as Clarke and Nash other members have included lead guitarist Tony Hicks, rhythm guitarist Terry Sylvester (who replaced Nash), bassists Eric Haydock and Bernie Calvert, and drummers Don Rathbone and Bobby Elliott.
Don Rathbone (born October 1942) is an English former drummer. He was the original drummer for The Hollies from December 1962 to late 1963, and played on their first two singles before Bobby Elliott succeeded him in August 1963.
24 de dic. de 2017 · When Don Rathbone departed in 1957, Hicks recruited his old The Dolphins bandmate Bobby Elliot whose proto-punk drumming no doubt contributed to the speedy version the band then did of “Stay.” As to this particular lineup — Nash, Clarke, Rathbone, Elliot — the group remained intact for quite a few years (six to be exact).
as Ricky & Dane Young. Eric Haydock inivited them to join The Deltas. Don. Rathbone, drums, was a member of The Fourtones first and later on in The. Daltas. Vic Steele, singleguitar, had been playing together with Eric. Haydock in The Emperors of Rhythm and joined in the group, too.
