Teji Harivansh Rai Srivastava Bachchan (née Teji Suri; 12 August 1914 – 21 December 2007) was an Indian social activist, the wife of Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and mother of Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan.
Teji Bachchan was a Punjabi Sikh who married Harivansh Rai Bachchan, a poet, in 1941. She was a teacher, a writer, and a supporter of women's rights and education.
Teji Bachchan was an Indian social activist who is best known for being the mother of the Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan. She is also known for being the wife of one of the most celebrated Indian poets, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Teji was born into an affluent Punjabi Khatri family of Lahore.
