Preshil is a co-educational, secular, and private school in Melbourne that offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes from Kindergarten to Year 12. It is the oldest progressive school in Australia, focusing on intellectual challenge, inquiry, and creativity.
Established in 1931 by Greta Lyttle (and later, Margaret E. Lyttle), Preshil teaches a progressive curriculum, and is Australia's oldest progressive school. Margaret Lyttle was using the Hungarian psychoanalyst Clara Lazar Geroe as an advisor after she moved to Melbourne in 1941.
