Alexander Winter is a British and American actor and filmmaker. He played the slacker Bill S. Preston Esq. in the 1989 film Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and its sequels Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991) and Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020).

Alex Winter began his career as a child actor; co-starring roles include the Broadway productions of "The King & I" with Yul Brynner, and "Peter Pan" with Sandy Duncan, and the American premiere of Simon Gray's "Close of Play" at the Manhattan Theater Club, directed by Lynne Meadow.
Alex Winter is known for his roles in The Lost Boys, Bill & Ted and Freaked, as well as his documentary work on Zappa, The Panama Papers and The YouTube Effect. He is also the founder of Trouper Productions and the director of the upcoming Destroy All Neighbors.
