Tigrán Vartánovich Petrosián (en armenio: Տիգրան Վարդանի Պետրոսյան; en ruso: Тигра́н Варта́нович Петрося́н; Tiflis, RSS de Georgia (URSS); 17 de junio de 1929- Moscú, RSFS de Rusia; 13 de agosto de 1984) fue un ajedrecista soviético, étnicamente armenio, noveno campeón mundial de 1963 a 1969.

Tigran Vartanovich Petrosian was the World Champion from 1963 until 1969. He was born in Tiflis (modern day Tbilisi) in Georgia to Armenian parents, but eventually relocated to Armenia in 1946 before moving to Moscow in 1949. Petrosian was an avid student of Aron Nimzowitsch 's theories.
