In the early years of the Second World War, the German Communist Dr. Richard Sorge, works as a reporter in Tokyo. Secretly, his real purpose is to obtain secret information from the German embassy and pass it on to Moscow, with the hope of foiling Hitler's planned attack on the Soviet Union.
