Sterling Price (September 14, 1809 – September 29, 1867) was a United States general and senior officer of the Confederate States Army who fought in both the Western and Trans-Mississippi theater of the American Civil War.
While he was military governor, Price put down a rebellion of Native Americans and Mexicans, known as the Taos Revolt, and fought the last battle of the Mexican-American War, the Battle of Santa Cruz de Rosales, after the war had technically ended.
