Thomas Addis Emmet (24 April 1764 – 14 November 1827) was an Irish and American lawyer and politician. In Ireland, in the 1790s, he was a senior member of the Society of United Irishmen as it planned for an insurrection against the British Crown and Protestant Ascendancy.
Thomas Addis Emmet (born April 24, 1764, Cork, County Cork, Ire.—died Nov. 14, 1827, New York City) was a lawyer in Ireland and, later, in the United States, a leader of the nationalist Society of United Irishmen, and elder brother of the Irish revolutionary Robert Emmet.

Emmet, Thomas Addis (1764–1827), United Irishman and lawyer, was born 24 April 1764 in Cork, second son among three surviving sons and one daughter of Robert Emmet (qv), state physician of Ireland, and Elizabeth Emmet (née Mason; d. 1803).
They represent a holding of 10,240 visual items that is part of even larger collection of some 30,000 items assembled by the New York physician Thomas Addis Emmet (1828-1919), and donated to the Library in 1896 by trustee John Stewart Kennedy.
