Charles Ludwig de Blume or Karl Ludwig von Blume (9 June 1796 – 3 February 1862) was a German-Dutch botanist. The standard author abbreviation Blume is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name.
Biography. Born at Braunschweig, Germany, Blume worked as a botanist in the Netherlands and in Java, which was then a Dutch colony. His name is sometimes given in the Dutch form Karel Lodewijk Blume. Blume was director of the Rijksherbarium in Leiden (1829-1862).
