Iftikhar Hussain Arif (Urdu: افتخار حسین عارف; born 21 March 1944), is an Urdu poet, scholar and littérateur from Pakistan. His style is romantic Urdu poetry. He has headed the Pakistan Academy of Letters and the National Language Authority.

Iftikhar Hussain Arif, widely popular as Iftikhar Arif, is an Urdu shayar, intellectual and philosopher from Pakistan. He was born in Lucknow on March 21, 1940 and lived there till he migrated to Pakistan in 1965. He completed his Masters in Arts from the University of Lucknow.
With his unabashed liking for classical imagery and diction, to which he has added a new dimension, Iftikhar Arif is at heart a poet of defiance and a champion of the deprived. For him poetry is a means of restoring human dignity and hope in a fragmented world.
