  1. 1 de feb. de 2008 · The 670 has been modded for years and responds to mods extremely well and reliably. There are still lots of mod 670's running very strong all over the place. Not many mod 583's. The 583 is a torquey strong running reliable engine. Nothing wrong with it at all.

  2. 1 de may. de 2018 · Once we hit 55-60 mph though the 583 seemingly vanishes behind my 670. Now I've heard the 583 has a better rounded out powerband having great low end grunt and tons of pull in the mid-range, while the 670 will just chew through the snow on the low end and only really start to pull hard above 50 mph... but is it really that drastic?

  3. 1 de nov. de 2007 · I swapped a 1997 skidoo formula 500 engine with a 1994 skidoo formula z (583) engine. I am wondering that if there is anything else that I should change from the 500 to the 583. I am having a hard time starting it every once an a while.

  4. 12 de nov. de 2002 · Both engines are pretty reliable. The 670 and the 583 are the same type of engines, rotory valve. If you are looking for a summit and will be riding in lots of powder or up some big hills, you might wanna get a SummitX 670 for the added power.
