But to give the cliffsnotes version, the reason Lilith's motivations changed is because Alan Ball left at the end of season 5 and Brian Buckner took over. For whatever reason, Buckner wanted Bill to be redeemed, so he sabotaged the Lilith story by changing all her motivations and trying to blame all of Bill's actions on Lilith.
