Sean Michael Astin es un actor, director y productor estadounidense, nominado al Óscar por su cortometraje Kangaroo Court, y mundialmente conocido por su papel de Michael "Mikey" Walsh en la película Los Goonies y por su papel de Samsagaz Gamyi en la trilogía cinematográfica de El Señor de los Anillos. Es hijo adoptivo del actor John Astin.
Biografía. La primera aparición de Sean Astin en la pantalla grande fue junto a su madre, la actriz Patty Duke, en la película para televisión Please don’t hit me, mom (1981). A los trece años interpretó a Mikey en el clásico filme de aventura Los goonies (1985).
