Mount Calvary Cemetery is a Roman Catholic cemetery in Columbus, Ohio, located west of downtown next to Green Lawn Cemetery and by the now-abandoned Cooper Stadium. It is the oldest active Catholic cemetery in Franklin County. [1]
The cemetery is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of W Mound Street and Mount Calvary Avenue. The cemetery is located in Franklin Township, Franklin County, Ohio, and is # 3483 (Mount Calvary Cemetery) in "Ohio Cemeteries 1803-2003", compiled by the Ohio Genealogical Society.
Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery was established in 1865 in part to replace the earlier Catholic Cemetery and St. Jacob Cemetery (aka Frey Cemetery; German Catholic Cemetery). The main entrance is on Mt. Calvary Avenue off of Mound Street.
