The official logo for the 2008 Games, titled "Dancing Beijing" (舞动北京), created by Guo Chunning (郭春宁), featured the Chinese character for capital (京, stylized into the shape of a human being) in reference to the host city.
The winning design, created by Guo Chunning and officially named "Dancing Beijing", was unveiled at a ceremony at the Temple of Heaven in Beijing on 3 August of that year. It depicts the Chinese character "jing" (京) against a red background, stylized to look like a dancing or running person.

Dancing Beijing is the name of the official emblem of the 2008 Summer Olympics, which took place in Beijing in the People's Republic of China. It was unveiled on 3 August 2003 in a ceremony attended by 2,008 people at Beijing's Temple of Heaven.
