Our Story. Back in 2011, when we decided to open John Brown BBQ, there wasn't much of a BBQ scene in the five boroughs. Certainly nothing from Kansas City. In the ensuing 12 years we have become the premiere purveyor of Kansas City Style BBQ in New York City.
