Based on the 1993 film The Nightmare Before Christmas and set one year after the film, the game follows Jack Skellington as he attempts to defeat a resurrected Oogie Boogie and reclaim Halloween Town from him.

The game was designed by Quixotic Games founder Andrew Parks and Zev Shlasinger. It consists of a Premiere set and 4 Starter Decks based on four characters, Jack Skellington, the Mayor, Oogie Boogie, and Doctor Finkelstein. Each Starter Deck contains a rule book, a Pumpkin King card, a Pumpkin Points card, and a 48-card deck.
Jack Skellington appears in four installments of the Kingdom Hearts video game series. He inhabits the world of Halloween Town, where the evil Heartless threaten its denizens. The games' main protagonists, Sora , Donald Duck , and Goofy , befriend Jack and together, they battle the Heartless and also Oogie Boogie.
