Koba is a fictional character in the Planet of the Apes franchise, who is portrayed by Christopher Gordon and Toby Kebbell. He is a bonobo gifted with intelligence from the ALZ-113 virus who joins Caesar's ape colony.
By Koba making the first move, he was able to arm the apes and wipe out the human colony, sort of preparing them for war with the humans that would likely be inevitable. I stand with Ceasar and think Koba is wrong overall for his lust for revenge, but I do wonder if Koba made the right choice in the long run for the Apes.
5 de ago. de 2011 · Koba was an anti-hero in Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the main antagonist of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. He makes brief reappearances as a hallucination to Caesar in War for the Planet of the Apes. Koba was named after Joseph Stalin, who used "Koba" as a nickname before the Russian Revolution.
Koba was initially a staunch ally of Caesar, but later became disillusioned with him after seeing his compassion and sympathy towards humans. This resentment leads to him overthrowing Caesar and leading the apes to war with humanity.
16 de abr. de 2024 · When Dawn was released and Kingdom was in development, scientists believed that bonobos were peaceful and nonviolent apes - the polar opposite of chimpanzees. This made the violent and villainous personalities of Koba and Proximus Caesar seem out-of-character and unfitting for their species.
Didn't Koba get clowned on by Caesar in the beginning of Dawn and then got defeated again by an injured Caesar? I feel like Proximus would give him a good fight, even if his own feats are basically non-existent.
Instead, Ceaser stands up in a domineering way and gives Koba the "Watch your tone" look and expects him to ask for forgiveness, which is understandable because despite being brothers there is a clear status difference between them. Ceaser is king and therefore is of a higher rank than Koba.
