John Wayne & Christopher Mitchum had a falling out after a political argument during a joint appearance on Johnny Carson in '72. They'd done Chisum, Rio Lobo, & Big Jake, but despite Mitchum's repeated attempts at reconciliation, even as Wayne was dying, he never forgave him.
