2 de jul. de 2024 · Grinnell College is very quirky and filled with a competitive, but welcoming student body. The overall vibe to the campus is very "you had to be there" meme. The only issue is the lack of things to do off campus and within the small town of Grinnell. Because it is so rural and small, the isolation can become overbearing sometimes.

Although no single factor guarantees admission, it helps to have had a challenging, balanced high school curriculum. Generally, competitive candidates will have completed: 4–5 academic subjects for each term in 10th–12th grades. 4 years of English. 4 years of natural science, 2 of which should be lab science. 3 years of a foreign language.
Grinnell College was founded in 1846 by New England Congregationalists and the first students graduated in 1854. The American Civil War saw the institution lose most of its students and professors but the numbers rose again in the following decade as women were allowed to earn degrees there and the college’s academic offering widened.
