Casanova's Big Night lands joke after joke while Monsieur Beaucaire struggles to get out of the gate. Maybe Bob Hope took this film and improved on it to make Casanova's Big Night. After all, he had eight years. It's rare that I don't feel anything valuable has come from watching a comedy, but this is one of those films. Painfully unfunny. Avoid.
24 de ene. de 2012 · However, next to "Monsieur Beaucaire" the restored "Beyond the Rocks" looks fresh. I cannot help but think the poor editing was deliberate, as this was one of the films that Valentino's wife, Natacha Rambova, was very involved in making. The costume designs (what you are able to see of them) are gorgeous.
