The first ladder below shows the position of Heathmont College when all schools are ranked by their 2021 median VCE study scores (as published by the VCAA). If two schools have equal median scores, their VCE 40+ percentages are used as a tie-breaker.
The Heathmont Model provides greater choice in learning for students in Year 9. Some elements of the curriculum are compulsory subjects for all students. These are represented in the table below in bold. Students are also offered a range of electives that encourage further inquiry into different areas of the curriculum.

The college is situated in the leafy, outer-eastern suburb of Heathmont. The Year 7 intake comes from many of the surrounding primary schools, both close by and from the corridor to the Dandenongs. Heathmont prides itself on its capacity to meet the wide range of learning needs of its students.
